1. Overview and Application
The 15ppm bilge water alarm device is primarily used for detecting oily wastewater in ship bilges, working in conjunction with oil-water separator units to form a bilge water separation system. It can also be applied in chemical, petroleum, and environmental protection fields for detecting oil content in wastewater.
This device is type-approved by the national classification society, with technical performance complying with MEPC.107(49), i.e., the 2003 "Revised Specifications for Pollution Prevention Equipment and Technical Conditions for Bilge Water in Ship Machinery Spaces."
2. Measurement Principle
The measurement system adopts the internationally recognized infrared light scattering principle: when infrared light emitted by the transmitter tube passes through flowing oily wastewater, oil particles in the wastewater cause the infrared light to scatter. Two infrared receiver tubes, positioned along the same axis as the light source, detect the transmitted and scattered components of the infrared light after it passes through the oil-water mixture. The resulting electrical signals are then amplified, filtered, converted via A/D, and processed by the CPU.
